Child Safety and Staff Qualifications
Our staff members possess up-to-date Working with Children Checks and police record checks. We are dedicated to maintaining a child-safe workplace and frequently review our policies to ensure they remain child-friendly and secure.
Reporting and Communication
Our audiologists write comprehensive reports for all children’s tests, which are sent to the GP, parents, and any other medical specialists upon request. This thorough communication ensures all relevant parties are well-informed about your child’s hearing health.
Registration and Preparation
To ensure we have a complete understanding of your child’s medical history, all new clients must complete the paediatric screening form (attached). If you are unable to provide this beforehand, please arrive at least 15 minutes before your appointment to complete this form in-store.
Testing Conduct and Retest Policy
If a child is distracted during the test and we cannot obtain definitive results, we are not responsible for the inconclusive outcome. In such instances, a chargeable re-assessment may be necessary to ensure accurate hearing assessment.
Audiometry Room Compliance
Our play audiometry room meets the standards for audiometric testing in accordance with AS/NZS 1269.4:2014 for ambient noise. This requires the room to be completely silent during testing. Therefore, we ask that you do not bring any other children to the appointment to maintain the required quiet environment.
Specialized Services
Our paediatric services are standard. If your child has other developmental considerations, it may be beneficial to visit Hearing Australia or the Sydney Children’s Hospital for more specialised testing.
